About
I’m Aleksandar, a software engineer at Tesla Energy in Amsterdam, working on cloud-agnostic distributed systems.
Before this, I spent nearly three years at Uber building distributed systems for FinTech and Maps. These days I write Rust in my free time to keep my low-level thinking sharp. Computers are metal, after all.
I got here through a winding path: electrical engineering at TU Vienna, a few years in non-software roles, a half-finished Master’s in Computer Engineering, and eventually the realization that I actually enjoy programming.
What I write about
This blog is where I share what I learn while digging into technical topics. Right now I’m building Rudis, a Redis clone in Rust, and writing about it as I go.
I’ve also written about OpenZeppelin’s Ethernaut challenges and cryptography:
Beyond code
I enjoy all things outdoor that involve:
- hiking 🥾
- skiing and/or snowboarding ⛷️🏂
- basketball (also indoor) 🏀
- kitesurfing (no emoji)
- sailing ⛵
